Instructions

  • BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Plan the placement of your cups before gluing them to the board. Arrange them in a pumpkin shape and make sure you have enough space between each cup for kids to easily poke through the tissue paper.
  • ARRANGE THE CUPS: Lay the plastic cups on the cardboard or foam board and arrange them into a pumpkin shape.
  • GLUE THE CUPS: Use hot glue to attach each plastic cup securely to the board. Let the glue cool completely before adding the prizes.
  • ADD THE PRIZES: Place a small prize, piece of candy or treat inside each cup.
  • CUT THE TISSUE PAPER: Cut orange tissue paper into squares large enough to completely cover the opening of each cup.
  • COVER THE CUPS: Place a tissue paper square over each cup and secure it with a rubber band. Make sure the tissue paper is tight enough to stay in place but easy for kids to poke through.
  • ADD THE PUMPKIN DETAILS: Cut a stem and optional leaves from green paper and attach them to the board to complete the pumpkin design.
  • PLAY THE GAME: Let each child choose a cup and poke through the tissue paper to reveal the surprise inside.

Notes

  • Arrange all of the cups before gluing so you can adjust the overall pumpkin shape.
  • Use inexpensive and light-weight prizes, candy, stickers or small toys inside the cups.
  • Use different prizes in the cups to make each turn a surprise.
  • Reuse the board by replacing the tissue paper and refilling the cups for another party or event.
