Equipment

  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun

Supplies

Instructions

  • BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Cut the white tissue paper into squares at least 7 x 7 inches. Gather enough cups and small prizes for everyone playing. Have an adult handle the hot glue gun.
  • ADD PRIZES: Place small, lightweight prizes inside each plastic cup.
  • COVER THE CUPS: Place two layers of white tissue paper over each cup opening. Secure tightly using two rubber bands or a doubled rubber band.
  • PLAN YOUR LAYOUT: Arrange the cups on the foam core board before gluing them in place.
  • GLUE CUPS TO BOARD: Add a generous amount of hot glue to the bottom of each cup. Press onto the board and hold for a few seconds until secure.
  • DRAW GHOSTS: Use a black permanent marker to draw simple ghost shapes on the white tissue paper.
  • PLAY THE GAME: Let each child poke or punch through the tissue paper to reveal a surprise prize.

Notes

  • Use two layers of tissue paper and pull them tightly over the cups for a satisfying pop.
  • White napkins can be substituted for tissue paper.
  • Choose lightweight prizes so the cups stay attached to the board.
  • Use more hot glue than you think you will need and hold each cup in place until secure.
  • Reuse the board for other holidays by replacing the tissue paper and prizes.
